So, here are 7 frequently asked questions about buying in larger quantities that might help you out:
Question #1:How do I pay?
Answer: GREAT question. If you’re picking up at our retail store, we accept cash, check, or credit card upon pickup. If we deliver your order to one of our pickup locations, we invoice you via email and you can pay online or in person at the pickup location.
Question #2:How much freezer space will I need for my bulk order?
Answer: As a general rule of thumb you should plan for 1 cubic foot of freezer space per 35-40 pounds of meat. (1 cubic foot of space is roughly the size of a full large brown grocery bag.)
For comparisons sake, our 1/8 Beef Box is 40 lbs.
Question #3:How long is the meat “good” in my freezer?
A: Cuts will stay fresh up to one year in the freezer as long as the vacuum seal has not been compromised. If a seal should happen to come loose, the product should be fine. Just use that package first. Once a product has been thawed, it should be cooked within two to three days of refrigeration.
Question 4: How is the beef packaged?
A: Our meat is vacuum-sealed in premium mill easy-tear, BPA free packaging. This packaging is designed to seal completely around each cut of meat locking in the freshness. Once the product has been packaged, it is then immediately frozen to preserve freshness and flavor.
Question #5: Is the meat freshly frozen?
Answer: Unlike common industry practices, our product does not spend time fresh on a grocery store shelf and then frozen as a last resort to extend its life. Rather, all of our meat products are intentionally dry-aged then frozen immediately after processing to preserve ultimate freshness!
Question #6. What is the right size bundle for my family’s needs?
Answer: This really depends on the size of your family and/or how often you eat at home. In the food service world, you typically plan for 1/4 pound (4 oz.) of meat per meal serving.
As an example, a family of 5 adult size eaters who consumed meat with only 1 meal per day would go through 35 lbs. in one month.
Question #7. Can I share an order with family or friends? If so, how do I do that?
Answer: Of course, and in fact many customers do, and we make this super easy for you. The Ground Beef Bundle is packaged in single 1 lb. packages, which makes it super easy to divide evenly. The 1/8th Bundle, of course, is a little more difficult because it contains only one of certain cuts. However, we designed it with even numbers of steak, roast, chip steak, ground beef, etc. so that it can be split evenly between two or more parties.
