Traditionally viewed as a lean meat, ground turkey was used as an alternative to ground beef. Not so with our ground turkey from pastured birds. Because we add in just the right amount of skin in the grinding process, our ground turkey is moist and easy to cook without drying it out.
While it’s different in flavor and texture than our grass-fed ground beef, ground turkey can be used very similarly to beef. Think patties for a family cookout or added to your favorite dish in lieu of ground beef for a different flavor makeup. Or mix it with our ground pork for a unique flavor and texture not found in any of the two by themselves.
At Pasture to Fork, we raise all our animals on pasture in nature’s template for optimal health and humane treatment. When allowed regular access to fresh pasture, turkeys will consume up to 50% of their diet in grass and bugs, which translates into very healthy birds and consequently, meat.
