Stewing hens are simply retired egg-laying hens, and although they are less tender and less meaty than the much younger meat birds, they boast a remarkable taste profile unparalleled by younger birds. Best suited for soups and stews–as indicated by the name–they add value and flavor not soon to be forgotten.
Our stewing hens are brought to you after having spent a rich lifetime in egg production in our laying hen flock. Dressed here in our own processing facility, they’re not only GMO-free but soy-free as well.
